The UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference was held in Copenhagen, Denmark on Dec. 7-18. The major target of the conference was to reach a consensus on Green House Gas emissions by the countries in the world, so as to mitigate the problems brought about by global warming. About 100 heads of state, over 8000 governmental officials from 192 countries, and about 15,000 NGO representatives and 3000 media personnel invited by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change attended the conference. China NGO Network for International Exchanges, China Association for Science and Technology, Association of Former Diplomats of China and Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges sent representatives to the NGO events of the conference.
